FAQ
What is GRDL's Tummy Tube used for?
Tummy Tube provides gentle, breathable compression to support your growing bump, ease back discomfort and promote better posture throughout pregnancy. It is also designed for postpartum recovery, providing gentle abdominal support to help reduce strain, improve posture, and enhance comfort as your tummy heals.
When should I start wearing it?
You can begin wearing Tummy Tube anytime you start to feel heaviness, back discomfort, or abdominal pressure — typically from the second trimester onward. Postpartum it can be worn after the first 24-48 hours or whenever you feel ready.
How long should I wear it during the day?
It’s designed for comfort and everyday wear. You can wear it for several hours at a time, taking breaks as needed. Always listen to your body and remove if you feel discomfort or skin irritation. We do NOT recommend wearing overnight.
How do I correctly wear my Tummy Tube?
Tummy Tube should worn as packaged. Please note the material is intentionally doubled over to provide the correct amount of compression.
Step 1: Step into the Tummy Tube and pull up so it sits comfortably around your bump or midsection.
Step 2: Adjust until it covers your entire trunk, from bottom of the bra line to over your stomach. It should lift and support without restricting movement or breathing.
Step 3: Wear under or over clothing for gentle, all-day comfort and support. Do not wear when sleeping.
Can I wear it during pregnancy?
Yes, GRDL Tummy Tube provides gentle, non-restrictive compression (L size), however we suggest NOT wearing it overnight/sleeping with it. We recommend you always consult your treating healthcare professional before trying new compression garments.
Can I wear it postpartum? What about after a C-section?
GRDL Tummy Tube is appropriate to wear after birth, including after c-section. It provides gentle compression for reduced pain, abdominal muscle recovery and wound healing.
Can it help with abdominal separation (DRAM)?
Gentle compression can help support your abdominal wall while healing. For best results, combine with guided core exercises and advice from a women’s health physiotherapist.
How long should I wear it for postpartum?
Every recovery journey is unique. Generally, the Tummy Tube is great for initial compression postpartum for the first 3-6 weeks. We suggest speaking to your treating healthcare practitioner for individualised advice.
What is the Tummy Tube made from?
It is made of a blend of cotton & spandex, making it breathable, lightweight and hypoallergenic. It is latex-free.
Due to the nature of the material, it may fray at the bottom after repeat use which is an inherent feature of this material. This does not affect the function of the garment and is purely aesthetic. Simply trim the loose strands.
